Spent 4 nights here (2 families with small children) during Easter. Our goal was to explore Isle of Wight, so we were out and about every day, visiting different places. The hotel served as a great base as it is conveniently placed within Shanklin (5m walk to beach or High Street), and Shanklin is just a 20-30m drive from anywhere else. Hotel is 2 star hotel, but that offers all the basic amenities we care about. Beds were comfy, our room was spatious enough and clean, we could make coffee and wifi worked fine. Cooked breakfast served in the morning along with selection of cereals, yoghurts and other stuff was nice and staff was welcoming and accomodating to our requests (catering for whims of young children).We enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

Our stay at the Harrow Lodge was more like being part of a wonderful welcoming family than just a hotel stay. The staff were willing to help in so many ways to ensure we had a good time. From recommending a special restaurant and arranging the taxi to adding Port to the bar offerings for our after dinner drink. Excellent food, breakfast lunch and dinner. Excellent location overlooking the water and close to the lift for beach access. No wonder their guests were repeat customers, we will stay again too!

Lovely hotel decor slightly dated but everywhere clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and treated the guests like royalty which was the best. The food was home cooked and extremely tasty would highly recommend.The location was idyllic overlooking the sea and a short walk to bars and restaurants and near to town centre and the old town too.The only thing to improve on from our opinion would be an upgrade of the decor but this didn’t spoil our stay at all. The shower was very small and a squeeze for those like us that are on the larger side and the room was big enough to have a larger cubicle in our bathroom. Somewhere to put your shower gel etc would also be useful. Overall would recommend this hotel and would definitely return again.

We had asked to arrive early to allow is to watch the State funeral. We were immediately made welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything very clean. Food great.

This is a lovely hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was nice, the hotel was clean. However, our room was small and smelt a tad damp. The bed was comfy but there was just no room to move. Peeking into some of the other rooms, they looked spacious and all that you could ask for.

Good value, basic accommodation. Room tidy and clean. Would have liked to have breakfast upstairs in the bar rather than down in the basement.

Hotel was in a great location, view from the hotel was wonderful, out across the sea. Lovely walks nearby along the cliff path and through Shanklin chine. Rooms were clean, checked daily. Fan in room was great as week was very warm. Food excellent, able to choose breakfast, as much or as little as you wanted. Meals good value and great food. Everyone was friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Friendly locals too. We will definitely return! Our three girls loved it.

This was our second stay at the Harrow lodge hotel . All I can is it was absolutely fantastic .It a lovely hotelstaff are so friendly & nothing is too much trouble .Service is great & rooms are immaculate & cleaned daily .Food in the hotel is also great , all the meals we had were lovely & great prices . We stayed here for three nights,our second visit. This hotel is excellent, the service is exceptional, any problems were sorted straight away. The food was very good, the views from the terrace are lovely.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The views are breathtaking and the historic lift down to the golden Sandy beach was an experience. The staff are super friendly and accommodating and even our three small dogs were welcomed. The food is good home cooking and an excellent breakfast is included in the stay. Very unusual these days. Yes the rooms could do with refreshing but the beds are confy and the hotel super clean.

I found this hotel almost by mistake but what a great find. A lovely location with balconies overlooking the sea, very friendly and helpful staff, spotlessly clean, great food at very reasonable prices and within walking distance of the beach and the town. Will certainly return.

Rooms 9 and 11 were very clean and tidy - the shower worked well and tea making facilities were provided despite the description saying otherwise. The staff were pleasant as was the breakfast. The small bar veranda had views over the sea.Good location near the chine and the lift to the beach.

Over the last couple of years, in between lockdownswe have stayed at a couple of other B & B. ‘s along Shanklin cliffs, the Harrow lodge is thebest by far thatwe have stayed at, from the welcome from Gina and her staff,alsoherhelp and advice ( great deal on our ferry crossing) thankyou, we stayed in Room 3 , the balcony/ sun / views / room ,locationwere stunning, breakfast was delicious and plentiful also. We also ate a couple of times late afternoon, the food was excellent, so nice to be able to have a choice of meals all day .Thankyou to you all at Harrow. We are looking forward to booking a longer stay next time 😊

I booked this hotel for 8 of us not knowing where it was or what it was like.We had a warm welcome and our rooms were lovely and clean, 2 rooms had sea views which were a bonus. Sharon who worked behind the bar in the evening could not have done more to make our evening great. We will all be back to stay again.

Having stayed here some years ago I decided it was time I came back and I was not disappointed. Everything was superb including the huge breakfast and excellent evening meals. Room was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely to be recommended.

Lovely place to stay in a beautiful location right by the Coastal Path. The breakfast was spot on and the people there were incredibly friendly and helpful. They let us check in early, were dog friendly and did a good cream tea, all round great break!

Room was well decorated and extremely comfortable with good furnishings, beds were reasonably comfortable. Bathroom and shower were all fine although the shower water pressure was on the low side! Room was described as having a sea view, but the main view was of the shabby hotel next door, the sea view was more of a glimpse, although if the weather had been a bit better we could have sat out on the balcony and had a better view! Breakfast was very good and recommended.All in all a pleasant place to stay made all the more comfortable by the very friendly and professional staff.Thank you!

Very friendly and welcoming staff from the moment of arrival and nice clean room. It was so nice to find somewhere that also welcomed our dog and certainly somewhere we would return to. The bathroom was a bit snug and the bedroom was very warm but other than that no real complaints. Breakfast was good in the morning and set us up for the day.

Sea view from our room was superb.The staff went that extra mile and did everything to help towards meal times, especially as our two granddaughters had just been diagnosed with celiac disease.Such a friendly atmosphere.We will definitely be booking again

Our stay was fantastic. The room was spacious and perfect for our needs and the kids loved how near we were to the beach. The breakfast was amazing and the staff were lovely too.

The room was a good size, clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the food is good. The only downside was the bathroom which although clean was really small with nowhere to put your things. The shower was hopeless, a tiny shower head with no pressure.

We had a very good 4 night stay at Harrow Lodge. The staff are welcoming , friendly and helpful. The hotel is well maintained and kept very clean. our room was modern and nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast is good and the menu has good home cooked meals and bar food. we were lucky with some mild and sunny weather and sitting out on the veranda adjoining the bar looking at the sea view was a pleasure. We have stayed here before and will be going again. Can’t wait.

From the moment we turned up, the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We got to the hotel quite a bit earlier than check in time, but one of the rooms we'd booked was ready and we were able to pop our bags in there. Had a coffee overlooking the sea, a wonderful view.The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable.Breakfast was very tasty and even though I'd asked for different than the menu showed, was told 'no problem'Will definitely visit again.

I booked a twin room room itself was fine space wise , my only two grummbles where extreamly soft and springy " but clean " beds and a very small and tight shower cubicle in the bathroom.Beautiful location with a nice terrace overlooking shanklin bay and right next to th estairs to the beack or the cliff top lift just across the road.lovely and propmt breakfast service with freindly and helpfull staff throughout the hotel after the festivalandon my one night stay.

Stayed just the one night (sept). Location is perfect, ontop of the cliff overlooking Shanklin beach. Rooms were very bright, clean and tidy although the dog friendly room we had was quiet small (not an issue for 1 night though). The employees/managers were very polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel was also quiet in the late evening which was a plus as we travel with our dog. Would return

The Hotel was in an excellent location, the staff were some of the most friendliest people that we have ever encountered, especially the breakfast staff. Our stay was excellent value for money and would certainly consider staying there again if we visit the Isle of Wight again. IfI have one observation it would be please change the mattress’s on the beds to more comfortable ones for more comfortable sleep.

This is a good hotel with friendly staff and good level of service. The room we stayed in (15) would benefit from an updated shower but other than that was good value for the cost. Parking is also a little limited and spaces are not ideal for larger cars. Breakfast and service was very good. Shanklin is a good base on the islandfor the popular beaches and shops/Old village. Overall we enjoyed our visit and would use this hotel again.

5 of us stayed at the Harrow Lodge as a stop over whilst completing the Round the Island cycle ride. The staff were so amenable with sorting out our bike storage, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb. Nothing was too much trouble!Beds were very comfy, hotel is in a quiet location. although the hotel is a little dated, the service and staff were faultless!

Covid caused us problems but staff and owner were fantastic. Accommodating, helpful and generous. All the staff are friendly and there is a lovely atmosphere. The hotel is situated 2 mins from the beach and 2 mins from town and though the rooms are dated they are spotlessly clean. Kettle, hairdryer and small fan in the room and they even set up an iron in the dining room for my hubby to do his shirt. Staff even apologised for our room not having a sea view but we were on the island to help with a wedding so we’re busy so would not have benefitted from a sea view. Plenty to eat at breakfast and even went ‘off menu’ for the table next to us. Would definitely stay again. Great little hotel.

We've stayed before and returned because we loved it. This visit didn't disappoint. The rooms are lovely, the location is great and the views nice. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff are wonderful. If we are in the Isle of Wight again we will definitely want to return.

Just back from a couple of nights stay at Harrow Lodge Hotel, what a gem of place. The single room (number 9) was more than adequate, clean and comfortable.Stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. Breakfast was excellent with a lot choice,the two females in the dining room were so pleasant and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile.The bar area was nice with outside seating areas and views across the bay. On my next visit to Shanklin I will try to book here again.

My stay at The Harrow Lodge Hotel was very pleasant with a distinct home from home feel. The hotel was very clean and everywhere spotless.I was greeted upon arrival with a friendly welcome. All the staff members I had the opportunity of speaking with were courteous and nothing was too much trouble.I am a single traveller so my room was single consisting of a single bed and single shower. (This was en suite) which was helpful. My room was small but perfectly adequate for my mini break away.The breakfast was an excellent start to the day ahead. The majority of days I was there, I was asked how I would like my eggs cooked within my full English breakfast. This was a lovely touch. Breakfast was like eating a 3 course meal! Starting with juice, a pot of tea/ or coffee, followed by the cooked breakfast finishing with toast. All served by friendly staff with smiles on their faces!The hotel has a lovely bar area and a fairly spacious outside seating area on two levels. The upper outside seating area is a decking space which overlooks the sea. These areas are lovely to utilise if the weather is decent enough. I thoroughly enjoyed a couple of ciders sitting on the upper outdoor decking area in the evening. The outside space is very welcoming to other guests visiting Shanklin, not just guests staying at the hotel.Overall, my stay at the Harrow Lodge Hotel was a very pleasant one and I was made to feel very welcome. I would recommend staying at the Harrow Lodge Hotel if you are visiting the quaint town of Shanklin.

From the receptionist up to the food server, they are all friendly, very clean hotel , nice location,nice food and the beach is just a stone throw from the hotel . Definitely we will come back and stay again to this hotel.

Last minute find found us at the Harrow lodge, on arrival was a warm welcome from the staff very welcoming. We were only booked in for one night the rooms were clean and comfortable. We ate in the bar the menu was basic but suited us with two young children. Breakfast was included with the price as well. All in all good value for money

My stay with two girlfriends at the Harrow Lodge Hotel was for the second time wonderful,Gina the Hotel manager will bend over backwards to make your stay totally fulfilled we happinessand comfort. I have had such a good time I’ve booked for next year.All the staff from the mads to the waitresses serving breakfast and of course the bar staff are so so kind and always smiling “FACT”.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in a family room. A lovely place with amazing views in a beautiful part of the island. The room was large, very clean, and comfortable beds. The breakfast was excellent, the bar with balcony sea views was excellent too. The staff are all lovely and friendly. Recommended and would be very happy to stay there again next time we visit the island.

Close to town and very close to beach this family run hotel oozes a friendly and helpful atmosphere.Rooms are large and very clean. Good breakfast with both English and continental options. They also offer an evening meal after exploring the delights of the IoW.Just outside is a step path down to the sea front, but you can get bus back or a slightly easier walk to the north.Reception was most helpful and Gina being a real starLastly, a good stocked bar and a very helpful gentleman who ran it, always helpful and ready for a laugh.

What a great hotel with very friendly staff. Positioned on the cliff walk and 10 mins into the old town and right next to the lift and steps to the beach. Nice clean room and great breakfast, outside bar located overlooking the sea. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

The hotel describes itself as pet friendly which means there was many guests with dogs.When I noticed that I was worried it could spoil our stay but they were all well behaved and never barked and we weren't disturbed by them at all.The food and bar prices are very reasonable.The room soundproofing could be better but it was very clean and the staff were wonderful.

From the moment we've arrived I felt very welcome.Gina ,the manager is very helpful,and accommodating. Room was very clean,Covid rules are observed and there's a bottle of antibac gel,on every floor,available to the guests.Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choices. Our view from the room was great too.Would recommend 100% and would stay again.

Had a lovely Holiday with Husband and our two Adult Daughter's. It has been a very stressful year with losing my Dad and close Friends to the dreaded COVID. We left it as late as possible to book as we did not know if we would be in lockdown. Going back to Harrow Lodge was like visiting family and friends. It was lovely to see all the familiar faces and it was just what we needed. The Hotel Staff were fantastic and all the Health and Safety measures were in place and fully adhered to. The breakfast choice was excellent and we also had lunch and several evening meals in the Hotel which were freshly made to order, tasty and good value for money. We stayed at the Harrow Lodge for three nights on the 23rd October. The accommodation and all around the hotel was spotless! We were in room 23 which is in the basement opposite the breakfast room which can get noisy in the mornings but this didn't bother us. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. Kim was a little star at breakfast and made sure we had everything we wanted without a fuss and a lovely cheery smile ????. All the staff were so friendly and nothing was ever too much for them. We had the Sunday roast and thoroughly enjoyed it! They had put all restrictions in for COVID so we felt very safe. Pets and children friendly too, which is a lovely touch even though we didn’t take our dog we know he would be very welcome. Location is fantastic too, short walk to the shops bars and the Old Village, with stunning views. Would definitely be staying here again when we come back in the summer ????. This is by far the cleanest Hotel ive ever stayed at.hats of to all the staff who work so hard to keep us safe and made are stay one to remember for ever.nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast was amazingand the staff made us feel like Kings..we will definitely be staying again .can't wait.plus this has got to be one of the best locations on the island if not the best.thanks for all your hard work ????????????????????

Unfortunately sometimes being spotless and abiding stringently by Covid rules and having a wonderful location isn’t quite enough.We still don’t know the names of The management as they were so distant and lofty with a miserable attitude and so determined to do the right thing that they forgot to be mine hosts in a very small hotel.The bar with dining room attached had very bright lighting which with no atmosphere lent its self to the coldness of the place.Only one of the staff appeared to be a human being, an extremely efficient Lovely lady called Gina, who was the only one we had conversation with. Room was spacious but had patches of threadbare carpet, no complaints about the bed, buta very small bathroom and needed an update. Clean linen and towels laid out in the corridor By housekeeping was a shock!!!! Surely they could have a proper trolley like all hotels.The location and balcony is a bonus with wonderful views but.... all in all because of the couple who managed to make a cold and foreboding experience we would pay a lot more and would not stay again.

A little disappointed as we booked a sea view room expecting to pull the curtains and look at the sea but room 3 means you have to go out on the side balcony for the view. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Lovely staff good food great breakfast and comfortable.

My stay at Harrow Lodge hotel was very special. The hotel manager went out of her way to make my stay comfortable, despite a setback via Booking.com. The hotel was clean, and served a great breakfast, and although I did not eat lunch or dinner at the hotel, the menu was varied and interesting. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and accommodating.Harrow Lodge is in a great location, close to local attractions, transport and amenities. I would recommend the hotel and look forward to staying there again in the near future.

Very enjoyable and relaxing stay recently at the Harrow Lodge Hotel. Excellent breakfast served every morning and a lovely bar with very reasonable prices with great views from the balcony.The best thing about my stay though were the wonderful staff who all go the extra mile to make sure everyone's needs are catered for and make you feel special.

My partner and I stayed here with our dog and couldn’t have wished for a more friendly and welcoming place to stay. We booked last minute and the room was fairly basic (but great value for the cost). When we arrived we were greeted with a genuine smile and the lady who checked us in was so friendly and welcoming. The hotel has lots of COVID precautions in place which completely puts you at ease. We didn’t spend much time in the hotel as it’s in such a great location and easy to come and go.The breakfast was fabulous and we sat on the balcony with amazing views over the bay. All the team were so friendly and efficient.We’d already stayed in Shanklin the previous night and had booked Harrow Lodge as the hotel we stayed the previous night was full (which was twice the cost), however although the room was fairly basic the fab friendly service, lovely breakfast and location makes this a great place to stay. We’ll definitely be back

From the minute you arrive to the point of leaving, you feel at home with such attentive staff.The hotel is well kept and very clean. The food does what it says on the tin. Home comfort specials like chilli, curry and sandwiches and soup all cooked by the very pleasant chef and his staff.Unfortunately I didn't make breakfast due to having to leave early, but I was set on my way with a bacon sandwich rushed up from the kitchen.The room and bathroom was very clean with all the standard amenities.The views from the front of hotel are first class and the out side terrace and decking have plenty of seating and the whole hotel is pet friendly.This hotel is built round the people that own it and the warm hard working staff.

We've just got back from a wonderful 4 night stay at the Harrow Lodge Hotel. After being home for 6 months I was anxious to go away, particularly in a hotel with other guests staying, however the hotel has the precautions in place with screens in reception / bar area, antibac everywhere and one way system to make you feel safe, also the staff work hard, constantly cleaning tables and the seating before next use. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and breakfast was very well organised with table service to ensure guests were kept safe. All staff were very friendly and we would definitely recommend staying here for your holiday, excellent location for lovely walks along Shanklin seafront, beautiful views while enjoying drinks on the bar terrace. Thankyou Gina for organising our ferry crossing, the added bonus of a discount was much appreciated. Hope to see you all again next year, stay safe x

Had a really nice few days at this hotel. Very comfortable and clean room and friendly helpful staff. I thought it was very good value for money including a cooked breakfast. The bar and restaurant prices were also very good, with a nice bar and terrace overlooking the sea.Thank you very much I'll be back again.

Very warm and friendly welcome at the HLH. We arrived early but it was no problem its a very clean place and has excellent processes in place to meet current issues with the pandemic and make you feel safe. Hotel is very close to the beach and we had a lovely time there during the day, great views from the Hotel from the top of the cliffs. There is a nice bar in hotel and they do food if you want to eat there. Our room was very comfortable with a great large bed, one minor issue is we'd have liked to have had black out curtains on the window as we do at home. Staff at breakfast were very kind serving a tasty offering. An enjoyable stay.

This hotel is in an amazing location, with fabulous views out over the sea from the restaurant, bar, and all of the front bedrooms. It is next to the beach lift and also the steps meaning it was easy to walk down on to the beach in just a few minutes (even with the lift currently closed). There was ample parking on site which is a huge bonus by the coast.Our room was stunning- it was very large, clean, comfortable and modern. The owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and dinner was good too.The staff were clearly taking COVID seriously and took sensible precautions but this didn't take away from the happiness orFriendly mood onsite.We would love to stay here again, hopefully for longer next time.

Unfortunately for home reasons I couldn't make my trip booked to the Isle Of Wight so I had to cancel, I paid for the accommodation in full. I was disappointed that as I booked through Booking.com I wasn't able to claim back any sort of refund, I would have been happier if I received a refund even after some sort of administration fee was taken out, so i'm unable to review the Hotel.

We can't praise the Harrow Lodge enough. Very kind and helpful to make our dog welcome as well as us, and totally on top of the Covid safety guidelines. Would recommend the Lodge to anyone. Also great location, safe parking and top breakfast.

The room was clean and comfortable. Covid-19 was well catered for. The Staff were always pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was superb and so were the evening meals that we had there. It was all that we could wish for and we have no complaints at all, only praise for operating efficiently under difficult conditions.

We stayed at the Lodge from Mon to Fri and it was very pleasant. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very accommodating. We had no issues at all.Due to COVID there were restrictions in place at breakfast and from what was allowed in the room but we were made aware of this before our stay and every thing worked out fine.The hotel is located very well. Within walking distance of the beach, Chine and shops. Everywhere we went was a 10/20mim drive away which was very helpful. There is free parking at the hotel but it is pretty tight.The only negative I have is that the bathroom was not as clean as I would like. Tap, towel rail, bath handle area, sink etc could be cleaned much better.But I would stay here again.Thank you!

We have visited the Hotel for the past 11 years with our children to drink and eat. This time we decided to spend 4 nights in the Hotel on our own. We had a lovely room with a side sea view. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were very kind, friendly and attentive. We were so impressed we have already booked up to stay next year!!!

We cannot wait to return to the hotel. We were made very welcome by the friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. Gina and her colleagues are amazing and we have already booked for next year.

I have just returned from a very wet & windy Isle Of Wight but the warm hospitality we received from the staff at The Harrow Lodge was second to none.They welcomed my elderly Springer Spaniel when I couldn't leave her at home.My room was clean and the bed was comfortable.The young lady serving breakfast had excellent customer service skills and great communication as did the bar man.Nothing was too much at this hotel, a well oiled machine even out of season.Well done.I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.Well positioned close to the lift down to Shanklin beach and walking distance from the village. A good choice at a very reasonable price, lovely cooked breakfast.

With beautiful balcony views for sunset/rise this was a lovely hotel to stay in. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The room was however quite small and could have done with a table apart from that no complaints and i would defo recomend and use again

We had a lovely stay at the Harrow Lodge, properly dog friendly and the view from Room 1 was awesome - see pics on Tripadvisor. Room was clean, tidy and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Importantly, the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. A few small improvements would earn an extra star. The outdoor furniture on our balcony was broken and tatty, the metal railings were a bit wobbly and the gaps weren't small terrier proof (we had to keep them on leads), glass panels would be a huge improvement, a small fridge in the room would have been very useful to store dog food, fresh milk etc. The cooked breakfast was ok but served almost too quickly, we'd have been happy to wait longer (and pay more) for a higher quality offering. Overall pretty good but room for improvement.

This is the SEVENTH year running that my mate and I have stayed at the Harrow Lodge Hotel. As per usual everything is perfect and nothing is no trouble. Its location is right above the seafront and the views of thecoastline are amazing! For Real Ale fans, the Doombar Ale served there is the best ANYWHERE on the IOW

Our room was comfortable, the breakfast served with a smile, but the best bit was the terrace café where you could enjoy a drink while enjoying fantastic sea views.

We stayed for five nights in this small hotel and were very impressed by the welcome, friendliness and service we received. We were made very comfortable and my gluten-free diet was well catered for.

On arrival Great welcome. Our concern over stairs was well looked after and alternatives explained. We were only booked for B and B but the choices of food suited us so we eat in each evening. Good company and helpful people. We will be back as well as some of our extended family..

You can sit in an outside bar and enjoy the view of the sea whilst you relax.Friendly staff, they could not be more helpful. We were even giving a fan to survive the heat in our room due to the heatwave.It's also next to a cute little village with shops for souvieurs and plenty of places to eat.

I stayed with two close friends for three nights ,we all enjoyed ourselves so much we have booked a week next year.The Hotel is very clean and well run.The staff are like family and bend over backwards to help make your stay comfortable.The views from the Hotel are beautiful and the pubs and restaurants are all just five minutes walk away. Excellent place to stay for a short break, clean room a little on the small side but fine for weekend, great location near Shanklin cliff lift and walk down to esplanade, good selection at breakfast with friendly service, decent lunch and dinner selection if required, all staff friendly and helpful. My 8 year old daughter was particularly pleased with the towels made into a swan that were left for her on our last day, a nice touch to a delightful stay.

We stayed here for one night. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. We upgraded on arrival to a Sea View room, it was perfect. The location is excellent on top of the cliff.Breakfast was great the hotel has everything you need. Gina the manager was lovely and friendly.We stayed in a few places but can truly say this was the best.

The Hotel outshone my expectations in every way.The Room was beautifully clean and had every thing that was needed even though it was a small single. It was very comfortable, quiet and afforded a very good night's sleep.The staff were outstandingly helpful, polite and willing to assist in making my stay as pleasant as possible.I very much look forward to many return visits

Friendly and welcoming on arrival, the lady showed us to Our 2 rooms to check they were suitable. They gave us 2 family rooms instead of 2 twins we had booked which was nice. Breakfast was good, but I was disappointed not to see mushrooms on the menu and then the next table asked about mushrooms and were told yes they could have them. I love mushrooms so it was a shame not to know they were available.Location was excellent right by the lift which I had planned as had my elderly father in law, however didn’t realise we’d have to pay £5 to use it!The only things I would improve were to have enough towels for the size of the room and to check the mattresses as I felt I could feel all the springs in ours so I didn’t sleep well. Perhaps get some mattress toppers?We also asked for a bath mat for my father in law as he was worried about slipping in the bath, which never turned up.

I stayed for two glorious sunny days at the exceptional Harrow Lodge. The hotel has a great clifftop location with stunning sea views. Conveniently situated within easy walking distance of both the old village and beach. My room was excellent, very clean and comfortable. And the breakfast really sets you up for the day! I will definitely stay again soon

It’s not meant to be The Ritz but it is clean, comfortable (lovely soft pillows), friendly staff and dog-friendly too (no doggy smells either!) Great breakfast, great location, parking alongside hotel which overlooks the clifftop. Will be back!

We really felt welcomed by all staff and guests. Our room was spacious and clean and comfortable plenty of room for our 2 dogs and with a seaview . Very good situation and easy access to coastal and beach walks with the dogs. We had booked breakfast which were excellent with plenty of choice and our own selections happily catered for . We had several evening mealsthere because of the quality of the food and the ease ofhaving our dogs with us. We found the whole stay veryrelaxing and comfortable. The hotel is ideally placed between the town an beach front area and is close to both lift and stairs for beach access. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was adequate and clean. Meals at the hotel were very reasonable. We had a celebratory meal with family that was catered for perfectly. Dogs are welcome so the hotel pick up valuable footfall from passing walkers. The hotel was spot on and would return here without hesitation.

We had a lovely 4 night stay, our family room was on the ground floor very comfy, spacious and fitted with home away from home facilities. Staff were really friendly and helpful, food was lovely and overall hotel facilities were great. We will be re-booking again. Plus dog friendly too which is rare for hotels.

Small single bed, but that was just what I expected. It was perfect for my one night stay, it was clean and comfortable and the staff were simply lovely. Real local hospitality. Even looked after my bag for an entire day while I went out and checked out Shanklin. Would recommend!

very friendly hotel staff in a lovely location right on the cliff top. Only a 5 minute walk down to the beach, back into the shops or 10 mins to the Old Village. Good choice of well cooked food and excellent breakfast. Bathroom was somewhat small and sink undersized but overall bedroom with a balcony was good.

Absolutely loved our stay the Harrow lodge. From check in to check out, everyone was so accommodating. We had our almost one year old with us & he was welcomed by everyone. They helped with high chairs at breakfast, said hello to him everytime. Most places aren’t so lovely with children. Breakfast was lovely & well worth having at the lodge: the views are lovely outside on the terrace.Location wise, it’s perfect.Thank you for a wonderful stay & for letting our dogs stay with us. It made it such a wonderful stay.We are already looking for next year !

have stayed here several times..staff great..rooms v clean and food great...bar tariffs v reasonable....good location..only 10 mins to bus station and you can get all over the island from there....wouldnt hesitate to recommend..only downside bathrooms bit small

The staff are very friendly helpful and happy very accommodating. Just stayed the one night but could have easily stayed a week. Food very good and reasonable priced, wished they stayed open a little later as to eat before 7.00 p.m. all in all a very comfortable stay with friends

Great friendly welcome and great service from friendly staff and very good location. Some of the rooms have a view overlooking the sea if you lucky to get one of those, if not have a drink on the veranda overlooking the sea at sundown for the ultimate treat. The place is clean and the rooms nicely decorated. The breakfast is very good too. Highly recommended!

We were very well looked after and the atmosphere was very relaxed.Our dog was really spoilt.

We had a very comfortable night at Harrow Lodge with our two children aged 15 and 11 and our father-in-law.All the rooms were clean and nicely furnished, although the double rooms were more light and airy than the family room on the ground floor.There was no noise at night, the staff were friendly and we had a lovely breakfast included in price.We would definitely stay there again.Good location close to beach and easy walk to Shanklin High Street.

If your looking for a warm welcome and great service this is the place to stop. As soon as we arrived we were greeted warmly and given our room keys and information we needed. The room was clean, nicely decorated and had everything we need for our stay. Breakfast was lovely with a choice of cereals, toast, fruits and hot breakfast as well. I will be staying there again.

We have done a lot of travelling and stayed in a lot of places, good and bad.Harrow Lodge was exceptional.Thee rooms were far superior to what you would expect and were clean and comfortable.The food was excellent and reasonable, but the real bonus was the service.All the staff were brilliant, and went out of their way to help in any way possible.With the number of hotels available the one thing that can separate them is service and the service was outstanding.Definitely a stay that we would have expected had we paid 3x the price.Excellent hotel and would recommend to anyone.

Harrow Lodge is in a prime location on the seafront in Shanklin. Comfortable room, very clean, lovely breakfasts & excellent value. The bar/restaurant does very good lunches and dinners (up to 7pm) if you prefer to stay in. Friendly, helpful staff.

I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable during my stay. The single room is small but clean. The location means you're within walking distance of everywhere as well as a great view from the lounge.

Arrived at Harrow Lodge on Thursday afternoon to a lovely warm welcome from the owners and staff. We were staying for 4 nights in order to attend the IOW festival (getting too old to camp these days). The room we had was nice and clean and did the job we needed. The rooms on the front of hotel have balconies over looking the sea and are lovely (we have already booked into one of these for next year). Food and drinks great and reasonably priced, all served with a smile and a chat in the lovely bar over looking the gorgeous views over shanklin. Overall great stay and looking forward to coming back. This hotel is the perfect place to stay on the Isle of Wight. It is a 5 min walk down to the beach, a 10min walk to the old village of Shanklin, 5 min to Shanklin Chine... parking is easy and free, rooms maybe a bit small especially the bathroom but very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast cam be outside if you want and if you have to leave earlier you get a packed lunch. So I would definitely recommend !

We stayed at the Harrow Lodge just for one night during school time so it was quiet but nevertheless, we still were impressed with the location, room, staff and the meals we had. Overall, worthy of a high rating and a return visit.

We stayed here for three nights and it was lovely...all the staff and the manager Gina were helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The room was small but perfectly formed with a balcony and a very comfortable bed...I rarely like hotel beds but I had good nights sleep in this one! The breakfasts well well cooked and filling and the evening meal was very tasty too.All in all a lovely experience and we will definitely be back!

Visiting the island to visit friends and was pleased to receive a warm welcome at the Harrow. Room was tidy, clean and comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was plentiful. All staff were friendly and it was overall a pleasant stay. Towels in the room could have been slightly larger but not a huge issue.

Pleasant surprise! Lovely find that was recommended by my sister who lives in Shanklin and popped in for breakfast one morning.Staff were very were friendly and welcoming. Family room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and plenty of room. Bar was reasonably priced with simple food. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice,my only criticism would be to have better quality sausages.The children said it was one of the best places they have stayed!We would definitely stay again.

Very friendly family run b&b, providing decent breakfast selection and cheaply priced dinners, the room was made each day which was great and its in a great location in Shanklin. Would have liked the shower to have better water pressure and to have had biscuits in the room but these are minor issues, overall I recommended this b&b as a very comfortable place to stay. 4.5 stars

Great staff,messed up my stay by jamming the key to the room which was very modern and newly decorated,especially when you have a dog with you, but hey the room we were given was ok ,great to get dog in and out,without going through hotel,also sea view, many thanks,will come again soon.

A two star hotel that delivered everything that I asked.No frills but was clean and comfortable.Very handy to esplanade and not a million miles from the centre.Probably wouldnt take much to go for another star.

I wanted a short break on the Isle of Wight (having lived on the Island many years ago!) and could not have found a better base for my stay.The single room was comfortable and clean.The only problem was with the kettle for making tea/coffee, as it was impossible to pour the kettle without removing the plug!Some may have found the stairs a problem, though I managed without difficulty!The selection of foods for breakfast was excellent, the cooked breakfast was splendid and the service was first class!I have no plans to return to the Island, but if I did, I would certainly be happy to stay in this hotel again!

Easy to find, clean and comfortable hotel with a nice friendly greeting on our arrival.This was our last night on the island and to be honest the best nights sleep I had.Breakfast was ok but lots available.

Whilst cycling round the island our group stayed at the Harrow Lodge.It was clean, comfortable, the staff helpful and friendly andthe hotel gave great value for money.

My son & I took a short weekend break away & chose the Harrow Lodge as it looked perfect & was also in the perfect spot. Very friendly, helpful staff & a charming, clean establishment. Food was good & the service was excellent. I will definitely recommend & return again myself.

We stayed here for one night and had four rooms between us. Every room was scrupulously clean and the decoration was well maintained. We had an evening meal which was freshly cooked and delicious.As was the Breakfast.only draw back we found was the lack of a lift several of our party are elderlyalthough this wasnt a deal breaker for future visits.As there are rooms on the ground floor. Staff all very helpful and friendly

We stayed for one night in Harrow Lodge. Friendly staff made us very welcome. The room we were given was very clean and had a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. We had our dog with us and this made the hotel perfect for us. Location is great too, very close to the beach. All in all a very enjoyable visit.

We only stayed 1 night but everything was amazing... View, breakfast, rooms, the location of hotel and especially PRICE :) I would recommend the hotel to anyone who will stay at Isle Of Wight.

Pros:1) Very nice & lovely location. Beach is just two minutes via stairs.2) Very friendly staff.3) Very clean rooms.4) Bunk bed for kids (even though I realised that my kids a bit older for the bunk beds being early teenagers, so not suitsable if you have a 12 / 14 years old kids).5) High street is less than 5 minutes walk with all amenities (restaurants/take-away/shops).Cons:1) Short of parking, had to park away one night.2) TV was a bit too small in our room.3) WiFi was too slow (Couldn't get decent 3G/4G service in the room either, however all worked fine in bar/lobby).Overall, it was a pleasant stay, food was good. Hotel has a beer garden, and a terrace, with sea view. I'd recommend staying in this hotel.

A group of us booked this hotel for a weekend break - we're so glad that we did. Hotel was beautifully clean and comfortable. Our sea view room with balcony was very spacious and we certainly enjoyed some gorgeous sea views. Bar and restaurant prices were very reasonable, add to that the helpful and friendly staff and you've a recipe for a great holiday.

The old village of Shanklin is quaint and has lots of places to visit and lovely restaurants,cafes and pubs.The Harrow Lodge Hotel is central to all over looks the sea.Warm friendly welcome,great value for money clean and comfy,a very nice breakfast to set you up for the day.The staff and managers were all friendly and helpful,I would be happy to stay here again.

Lovely hotel. Fab staff, really took care of us. I had my two shih tzus with me and travelling on my own. They really looked after us. Couldn't do enough to help us. Nothing was too much trouble.I'd recently stayed in a dog friendly hotel in the Lake District and had a totally different experience that left me worried about staying in another hotel with the pups....But the Harrow Lodge Hotel has restored my faith.Hotel in a great location. Quiet but close enough the a few lovely sea front restaurants and bars.Thanks Gina and staff. We'll be back. :-)

We booked the family room (room #23)in the lower floor (1 double, 1 single and 2 bunks). Nice and neat - opposite the breakfast room. Stairs a bit tricky for young children but we all managed. Overall good value for family. Breakfast was great and staff were very helpful and welcoming. It was next to the Pool table so could be noisy at times but we were lucky that nobody used it as it was the end of the school holidays! Free wifi is a great feature and dinner being served until 7pm was definitely handy.

We got three rooms for only one night and passed through the area all too quickly. We had a good cold breakfast, then realized that they offered a hot breakfast but we were too full at the time. Good parking.Good Wifi.

We spent Easter weekend at the Harrow Lodge Hotel with our two dogs. The hotel was immaculate, the staff were friendly, and we would definitely stay there again. We had a balcony with a sea view, and the setting of the hotel on the cliff above Shanklin beach was just perfect.It was possibly to bring the dogs into the bar, where food is served from lunch until 7pm. The food was incredible. We had a couple of wonderful meals in the bar, that were very reasonably priced.We loved our time in the hotel, and would definitely go back there again.

Very comfortable and clean rooms, small but everything you and nicely decorated, good matresses etc. Great Location above the sea. Always one of the staff there to ask for something. Very good breakfast you could choose any items you'd like - and the fried eggs were really fried in a pan! Fresh fruits several fruit Juices, joghurt etc. We had two twins on the ground floor, 20 + 21, and one had the Surplus of having a terrace with sea view to sit outside.

We stayed with our 3 grandchildren in the family room. Perfect size for 5. Not always easy to find accommodation for 5 in one room. We had a beautiful sea view. The room was spotless. With breakfast included the price was very reasonable. Can't believe this is only a 2 star. I give it 5.

Very Friendly and accommodating.Waited really late for us to arrive and then let us stay a little longer in our room after normal check out time.Room was Comfortable clean and warm and breakkie kept us going all day.Would definately stay here again :)

We only stayed 1 night with our 6 year old grandson, so probably didn't have one of the better rooms.The window was frosted glass(probably to stop people looking in from the car park)so no view, but was a decent size. Couldn't understand why one of the bedside tables wasn't next to the bed as it would have fitted ok.Bathroom was tiny but ok for 1 night.Friendly owner and staff and good breakfast.Location lovely, overlooking the cliffs and nice bar and terrace.Would stay here again but in a better room out of season without grandchild!

A lovely friendly welcome. You kindly stored our bags and motorbike stuff as we had arrived very early, which allowed us to go and meet our friends, without having to cart it all about with us. Our room was very clean, comfy and we were happy with it. 4 of us had an evening meal there on Saturday night which was fine and breakfast Sunday morning had lots of choices for juices, cereal and toast, aswell as the cooked breakfast and was of a good quality. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and on Sunday morning the young lad/waiter in the Dining Room was very polite. We would happily come back again and have recommended it to others too.Thanks Chris and Glen :)

The hotel is situated on the cliff top overlooking the sea so the views are stunning.We had a family room which was very clean and the only real minus was the small shower room/toilet.The staff are all very friendly and service was good. Cooked breakfast was lovely and the bar was well stocked and competitively priced.We were always able to park on site, the spaces were a little tight but this is not uncommon across the whole island.Overall a lovely break with the hotel providing an excellent base.

I spent just 1 night with my mother in a twin room at Harrow Lodge on route to a family funeral. We both enjoyed our stay here. the star were very friendly, helpful and efficient. the room, although small, was clean and pleasantly decorated in modern tones. The bar area is a joy. A modern, light, room with peanuts full sea vies and an open terrace with a downstairs terrace as well. Breakfast was tasty and freshly cooked and we had free parking. please be aware that the stairs into the downstairs dining room are steep and the stairs to the upstairs rooms are also steep. However, there are ground floor rooms available.The hotel is dog friendly which is a bonus and I noticed there were several restaurants nearby also proclaiming dog friendly signs. The hotel is located 1 minute from the cliff lift, a boon if travelling with someone with mobility problems. In addition, the Shanklin chine coastal path is just outside the hotel. I would love to return and explore that route! So in summary, a small but beautifully formed hotel.Neither luxurious nor spartan, but just right for a short break!

Hôtel sympa. Chambre 2 lits jumeaux assez petite et assez mal insonorisée par rapport à la chambre voisine, mais c'était très calme : nous avons très bien dormi. Petit déj très bon. Personnel très agréable.

The staff were very nice and accommodating, we had a misunderstanding over our online booking that was solved very smoothly in the reception. excellent location near the beach, they have a nice bar with really nice selection of drinks for cheap prices. the rooms were clean and comfortable. We got a really good price for the night. i would recommend it strongly!

Harrow Lodge is a reasonably priced B&B/Guest House. We only stayed one night but provided a good place to stay with good views over the sea. The welcome was warm and the rooms were clean. There was a good breakfast with lots of options.

We had a lovely seaview room with a balcony which was perfect for our dog to sun himself on. Great location only 5 mins from the beach. We would definitely stay again.

Location is of this hotel is excellent next to the sea. Breakfast is again very good. Room that we stayed is small but okay. Free Parking is in front of the hotel is helpful. When we checked in, the only staff available was too busy in pub so when we told we will require some tourism help - she just pointed to the pamphlets and tour books kept in one corner of the hotel. Next day, owner was there and we had some good talk. Dragon pearl chinese restaurant was in walkable distance and it was filled with tourists or local people and we used it for dinner - good

A clean and good value hotel on the clifftop with stunning views from the bar.We had no view from the bedroom unfortunately - just a frosted glass window.This was ok just for the weekend as we didn't spend much time in the room but worth asking if you stay longer. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. Staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable, and the location ideal. Excellent value for money. The only criticism is that the food was fairly average although there was a reasonable choice and it was cheap!. We would have been prepared to pay more for a better quality of food.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel for five nights, unfortunately it wasn't long enough. Staff were friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and the cleanliness was second to none. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We have been going Isle of Wight for over 15yrs and recently started staying at hotels instead of caravans. We found this hotel online and read its reviews and was pleased with them so we thought we give it a go..And we were not disappointed. The reviews were right.. The staff are very kind and helpful. Would like to mention Rita in the bar who was extremely friendly and helpful on general information for the island.our hotel rooms were very comfortable and clean as was all the hotel. and the breakfast was good. We are glad we found this hotel and will be booking again.

Going on a short break you can not really know what your hotel will be like, this time I chose well. This hotel is friendly and clean and has nice bar overlooking the sea, breakfast was good with buffet style cereals and juices etc, followed by full English .Great location for both beach and old village.A real find, value for money, not the Ritz but a cosy alternative.

I travelled with family who had a separate room,the hotel was clean and tidy and staff friendly.Breakfast was good and we also had a meal in the day which was lovely.Hotel is in a great position with a lovely view.Prices in hotel very reasonable.My only problem was that my tv did not work properly with only 4 channels I could find.Would certainly return here.

We had a family room for 5 which was spacious for us all and had plenty of room, also nice warm, clean and tidy.The staff were friendly and helpful.We had a lovely meal there at a reasonable price and the breakfast was good.Our boys loved the pool room.Wonderful view from the hotel which has a lovely beer garden. Nice and close to the amusments and the beach below some lovely walks nearby.We would definitely use this hotel again.

It's a good experience

We were loooking for an overnight stop, reasonable costs as our tasks on the IOW meant we would spend little time there + doggy friendly. Good value, efficient check in, nice big room, clean showerroom, good sized breakfast that we were able to eat in the lounge that is doggy friendly with nice walks close by and friendly, helpful staff.

Really nice place to stay. Very friendly, helpful staff. Superb breakfasts. Good chef- does tasty well presented evening meals (but you have to ask in morning) using fresh produce. Altogether a good break even though we had awful weather....

4 of us stayed over the last weekend from Thursday to Sunday, we all found the hotel rooms to be spotless, serviced during the day whilst we were out, breakfast was superb with plenty of choice and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, The bar was well stocked and again the service was excellent. Would not hesitate to stay again and would recommend to others ! WE CANNOT SEEM TO DO THE RATING, WE GIVE IT 5 STARS

My friends and I had a lovely weekend with you at the hotel. There was everything we needed and it was friendly, warm and comfortable. What we particularly liked was the fact that we could all have a single en suite room each. So rare in a small hotel and no single supplement. We will definitely come and stay again.

I would've loved to give this hotel 5 stars, but I've based my rating on overall experience.The staff are lovely and very friendly. Breakfast was great and the portions were very generous. They really looked after us. I also loved the personal touch of setting up a high chair at the breakfast table in the morning before we came down.Location is great and literally a few minutes walk from the beach.The View from the balcony at the bar is lovely as well. We were there at low season so parking was easy.The let down for us was the room. It was spacious for what we needed, but it was quite dark during the day and we had to put the light on most of the time.Regulating the hot water when taking a shower was a challenge, as the water kept going hot and then cold intermittently. if you woke up early before the other visitors you were alright.Wifi was another main issue for us. We had hardly any coverage in our room, but as soon as you stepped out the door it was fine.All that said, we would still love to go back there again,but we'd definitely opt for a different room.

I was really impressed with the laid-back but professional style and family friendly attitude of all the staff. We loved the family room provided,the space, cleanliness etc and also how friendly staff were both at breakfast and also check-in/check out. I really feel that Harrow Lodge deserves more more credit as they could not have done more to accommodate all of our needs and we had a lovely, comfortable base to come back to. Can't wait to book a return visit....

We stayed in a family room, 2 Adults and our 16 year old son, as we were going to the Isle of White festival. As first timers we were totally disorganisd and Gina and Rob really bent over backwards to help us. Such great hospitality ad being so helpful lifted our whole experience. The hotel was fine with a good size room and very clean, lovely view over the beach from the bar terrace. All in all excellent.

Family room we had, had no view out of window, it was frosted glass which felt a little claustrophobic. the en suite was very small for a family room. Breakfast was very good and lovely bar area with views over the sea.

Harrow Lodge is a lovely small hotel in an ideal location. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. I found the breakfast excellent with plenty of choice including the full english breakfast. My room was small but ample for what i needed and kept nice and clean. This is the 1st time that we had been to the isle of wight as a couple, and I believe that we could not have found a better, value for money Hotel than the Harrow Lodge. We read the reviews prior to travel and decided to give it a shot. We are so pleased that we did! the reviews said it was generally above the two star rating it was awarded and how right they were! We were accommodated in room 12 and we found it to be more than what we expected. There was an extensive range ofbreakfasts and was totally unlimited( 3 bowls of frosties, followed by Hash Browns, Bacon, Eggs and sausages), sort of sets you up for the day. If you need a no nonsense, cheerful place to stay while on the isle of wight, this has to be it! Just leave room for when we want to go again!!!

We stayed here on the weekend of 25/04/14 in a family room shared with our two young grandsons. The room was clean and well kept and our grandsons loved the bunk beds experience. The staff were unobtrusive but friendly and available when required. The prices charged at the bar were very reasonable and the breakfast was excellent. All in all the hotel made for a pleasant stay and if we should return again we would have no hesitation in choosing Harrow Lodge again. Thank you.

As a family we have been coming to the Isle of Wight for many years and always have a great time. We always stay in a different area so we can enjoy different qualities that the island has to offer. This time we stayed at The Harrow Lodge and were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and hotel in general. Nice polite and friendly staff and the breakfast was great too. We will definately be back for another visit.

I am writing to thank you on behalf of my wife and myself along with a relative who stayed with you for 3 nights on our recent visit to the Isle of Wight, we found all members of staff very friendly and helpful, rooms clean and very comfortable and breakfasts plentiful and enjoyable. The Hotel was situated with a lovely view of Shanklin beach and close to the lift down to the beach, public transport is a short walk away to get around the island, will return many thanks Mr & Mrs Forder and Mr Knowles

This hotel is in a great location with sea views and parking, which is a bonus. Very clean. Staff friendly.My only negitive comment is there was only one top of the chest of drawers to put things on as the other one had the tea things on. The tv was small. But nothing that was a great problem. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would defiantly go back. Thank you
